PRESS: Samsung, Apple register new gadgets in Russia with no sales

MOSCOW, May 25 (PRIME) -- Samsung and Apple apply for documents to sell their products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) while shipments to Russia were paused, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Samsung smartphones that are not officially presented in the country are available at Russian retailers via parallel imports.

The daily uncovered in the register of conformity and declarations of conformity of the Federal Accreditation Service that the Russian subsidiary of South Korea’s Samsung Electronics had been declarant in documents for smartphones, monitors, TV sets, and other electronic appliances, including not yet manufactured, up to May 19. The subsidiary has had 12 certificates and 22 declarations registered since the beginning of May.

A declaration was made for smartphone Galaxy A13 5G, which is not available in Europe, and the models not yet announced, but dubbed by website SamMobile as Galaxy A04 and A13s.

Samsung suspended supplies to Russia on March 4 because of the current geopolitical situation.

Apple Rus, a local subsidiary of Apple, which also suspended its supplies to the country, was mentioned as a declarant in the documents made on March 10–21 for the devices that were not offered on the Russian market, such as computer Mac Studio and monitor Studio Display, among others.
